Abstract

Statistically based experimental designs were applied to optimizing process parameters for Lycium barbarum polysaccharide(LBP) production.Box-Behnken design and response surface analysis were adopted to investigate the mutual interaction between the variables and identify optimal values that bring maximum LBP yield.Experimental results showed that ultrasonic power, ultrasonic extraction time and ratio of material to water all had significant influence on the LBP yield. The optimal conditions for the maximal LBP yield were: ultrasonic power 249.5W,ultrasonic extraction time 16.5min and ratio of material to water 1∶25.4.The yield of LBP was about 5.318%.
