Abstract
Objective: To investigate the changes in peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets( cell count and ratio) and their clinical significance among acute suppurative tonsillitis( AST) patients with nutrient aspect syndrome. Methods: Fifty- five subjects were divided into observation group( 25 AST pediatric patients with nutrient aspect syndrome) and control group( 30 healthy children). The counts of CD3+,CD4+,and CD8+T cells in peripheral blood and their ratios were determined by immunofluorescence flow cytometry and compared between the two groups. Results: There were no significant differences in the counts of CD3+,CD4+,and CD8+T cells between the two groups( P 0. 05). Compared with the control group,the observation group showed significant increases in CD4+/ CD3+ratio and CD4+/ CD8+ratio and a significant decrease in CD8+/ CD3+ratio( P 0. 05 or P 0. 01). Conclusion: AST with nutrient aspect syndrome may be related to increased CD4+/ CD3+ratio and CD4+/ CD8+ratio and decreased CD8+/ CD3+ratio.
