Status of Health Human Resources in Community Health Service Institutions in Xicheng District of Beijing

Objective To know the situation of community health human resources in Xicheng District of Beijing,to find out the existing problems and put forth the proposal. Methods Based on Beijing community health service monitoring,a network general survey was conducted among the community health service staff in Xicheng District of Beijing by using self-administered questionnaire,the information till the end of 2010 was collected and analyzed. Results By the end of 2010,there were totally 1 694 health professional workers,including 864 doctors,545 nurses and 279 prevention and health care workers.The ratio of doctors to nurses was 1.59:1.The ages of health professional workers ranged mainly from 20 to 40 years old,accounting for 56.19%;the educational background was mainly at levels of college or junior college,accounting for 74.14%;and the professional title was mainly primary and intermediate,accounting for 85.66%. Conclusion The personnel troop of community health services in Xicheng District of Beijing has primarily formed.However,there still exist the issues of low quality and unreasonable structure.It is suggested that the general practice training should be enhanced,personnel troop be improved,and the relative policies should be put into effect.
