Clinical Efficacy of Opical Tacrolimus Ointment in Treating Rosacea

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of topical tacrolimus ointment 0.03% in the treatment of patients with facial rosacea.Methods Forty patients were treated with topical tacrolimus ointment0.03% twice a day,and the scores of the clinical symptom and sign scores were measured before and after the treatment.Meanwhile the adverse reaction were observed.Results Thirtyty-one of 40 cases completed the whole course of treatment.Marked effective rates were 32.26%,61.29%、74.19% and 83.87% respectively on the 7th day,14th day,21th day,28th day after the treatment in erythema respectively,while marked effective rates were 9.68%,22.58%,25.81%,38.71% in papules and pustules.Among avariety of skin lesions,the therapeutic effect was better for erythema lesions than that for inflammatory papules and pustules,Of the 31 patients,9cases(29.03%) were reported to have local burning and itching after the treatment in the first weeks treatment.Conclusions Tacrolimus ointment 0.03% may be a safe and effective treatment option for the patients with rosacea,but it is necessary to further investigate the therapeutic effect in various skin lesions.
