Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of amiodarone in the treatment of ventricular arrhythmia in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods: One hundred and eighty patients with ventricular arrhythmia and acute myocardial infarction were treated with amiodarone and followed up one year. Results: Intravenous loading dose of 3~5 mg/kg amiodarone was given within 10 minutes, followed by 1~1.5 mg/min infusion. The administration of amiodarone was effective in patients with recurrent sustained ventricular tachycardia and(or) fibrillation.Oral maintenance amiodarone dose of 200 mg/d could control ventricular arrythmia. Conclusion: Amiodarone had high efficacy and was relatively safe for treating ventricular arrhythmia in patient with acute myocardial infarction.
