Abstract

Objective:To observe the expression of stem cell factor(SCF) mRNA in nerve cells after focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury of different times and different positions in rats. Methods:A middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) model was reproduced with the intraluminal suture method. We selected adult SD rats to repeat the animal models.Adult SD rats were randomly divided into two groups. One group was ischemia 1.5 h reperfusion 2 h~14 d group and the other was sham-operation group. The expression of SCF mRNA after ischemia and reperfusion was measured by in site hybridization in different positions of brain.Result:After focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion,the level of SCF mRNA expression was obviously higher than Sham-operation group in the cortical area and corpora striatum area, and peaked at 7 days and droped at 14 days. Conclusion:The expression of SCF mRNA has the same rule in different positions and in different times of rats brain after focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion.Focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion may promote the effect of proliferation of endogenous neural stem cells.
