Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the expression and and significance of mTOR and eIF4E in invasive ductal type breast cancer.METHODS the expression of eIF4E and 4EBPS in tissues of 45 breast cancer patients and 45 normal people was examined by immunohistochemistry(SP method).RESULTS The positive rate of eIF4E in normal breast tissue and breast cancer tissues was 22.22% and 84.44%,respectively(P﹤0.05).The expression of eIF4E was related to lymph node metastasis(P﹤0.05).The positive rate of 4EBPS in normal breast tissue and breast cancer tissues was 95.56.22% and 31.10%,respectively(P﹤0.05),and the expression of 4EBPS was not related to lymph node metastasis(P﹥0.05).Negative correlation was found BETWEEN eIF4E and 4EBPS expression(r =-0.434,P﹤0.05).CONCLUSION Mar expression of eIF4E and 4EBPS might play an important role in carcinogenesis of breast cancer.AndeIF4E and 4EBPS may relate to the metastasis of breast cancer.
