Clinical significance of serum prealbumin in aged CAP patients

Abstract

Objective To study the clinical significance of serum prealbumin in older CAP patients.Methods We selected 60 patients of CAP and 60 healthy old people.The difference of blood WBC,CRP,PA between two groups were analyzed.Results There was significant difference in CRP and PA between the two groups(P0.05),while no difference was found in WBC.Conclusions PA in blood serum is an index to predict acute infection in aged CAP patients and also can reflect the vesting of illness.
