Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of VEGF in the normal growth and development of human prostate cancer. Methods With the methods of in situ hybridization, specimens from 30 patients with prostate cancer,30 with benign prostatic hyperplasia and 16 with normal prostate.A combined with computer-assisted image analysis system was used to examine the relationship between VEGF and the pathological characteristics of prostate cancer. Results VEGF was highly expressed in prostate cancer and correlated with anagiogenesis of prostate. The expression rate and the intensity of VEGF correlated with the metastasis of prostate cancer.ConclusionVEGF may play an important role in the angiogenesis and metastasis in prostate cancer.
