Efficacy of Maixuekang Capsules for Cerebral Infarction and Its Effects on Fibrinogen

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical efficacy of Maixuekang in treating cerebral infarction.METHODS: A total of 160 patients with cerebral infarction were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.Both groups received aspirin and Danshen injection for 14 days with the treatment group receiving add-on Maixuekang.Then the control group received aspirin alone while the treatment received add-on Maixuekang for 3 months.RESULTS: After treatment,the neurologic impairment scores of all patients had reduction,much as in the treatment group;and the treatment group showed significant reduction in fibrinogen level and significant improvement in blood rheology(P0.05).CONCLUSION: Maixuekang capsule has proved efficacy for patients with cerebral infarction in that it can reduce the fibrinogen level,improve blood rheology and patients' prognosis.
