Phacoemulsification and Lens Implantation for Angle-Closure Glaucoma

Objective:To detect the effects of phacoemulsification and lens implantation for closure glaucoma.Methods: Sixteen eyes with closure glaucoma and cataract were performed phacoemulsification and lens implantation.The preoperative visual acuity was less than 0.3.Preoperative and postoperative visual acuities,intraocular pressure,the depth of anterior chamber,and the angle of anterior chamber of each eye were recorded with following-up for 1 to 6 months.Results: The IOP in all the eyes was normal,and visual acuity was improved. Conclusion: Phacoemulsification and lens implantation is a valuable method for the treatment of closure glaucoma.
