Abstract
Objective To isolate the chemical constituents and elucidate their structures from the leaves of Camellia sinensis. Methods The compounds were isolated by chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 column and recrystallizing methods.NMR and MS were employed for the structure identification. Results Eight compounds were obtained and elucidated as:caffeine(1),theobromine(2),kaempferol(3),(+)-catechin(4),daucosterol(5),(Z)-9-hexadecenoic acid(6),phenyl-β-naphthylamine(7),gallic acid(8),respectively.Conclusions Among these compounds,5,6 and 7 are obtained from the Camellia genus for the first time.
