Abstract

Objective To study the chemical constituents from leaves of Camellia pitardii Coh.St..Methods The compounds were isolated by chromatography on silica gel column,Sephadex LH-20 and identified on the basis of physico-chemical constants and spectral analysis. Results Eleven compounds were isolated and identified as quercetin(1),rutin(2),quercetin-3-O-α-D-arabinofurnoside(3),quercetin-3-O-β-D-galactopyranoside(4),quercetin-3-O-β-D-rhamnoside(5),kaempferol(6),kaempferol-3-O-[2″,6″-di-(E)-p-coumaroyl]-β-D-glucopyranoside(7),lupeol(8),oleanolic acid(9),3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid(10),ethyl gallate(11).Conclusions Compounds 111 are all isolated from leaves of Camellia pitardii Coh.St.for the first time.Compound 7 is isolated from Camellia genus plants for the first time.
