Abstract

Objective To evaluate the irritation and hypersensitivity of Compound Dithranol Ointment(test drug) on animal skin. Methods Skin irritation on guinea pigs by multiple doses was observed.Sensitization by drugs and positive allergen was confirmed by cutaneous hypersensitivity test. Results Intact skin and damaged skin showed redness that increased with the dose.Cutaneous hypersensitivity test showed that there was no obvious erythema and edema on guinea pigs′skin. Conclusion Compound Dithranol Ointment leads to moderate and dose-dependent irritation on animal skin, but without hypersensitive action. The dose gradient should be used and the skin wound should be quickly cleaned for clinical use.
