Abstract
The term gentleman repeatedly appears in The Analects of Confucius.In the mind of Confucius,gentleman is the ideal model of man of virtue.The book The Analects of Confucius enriches the connotation of gentleman with comparatively concrete moral rules and forms a complete theoretical system about gentleman.This paper discusses Confucius's ideas of gentleman in his ideological system from three aspects: approach of gentleman's self-cultivation,gentlemen's nature and gentleman's definition.
