Significance of Preoperative Transcatheter Bilateral Internal Iliac Arterial Embolization in Pelvic Tumor Surgery

Objective:To study and evaluate the efficacy of transcatheter arterial embolization in the treatment of pelvic tumor.Methods:30cases of pelvic tumor were embolized with l week before the operation.Results:Tremendous reduction of blood loss during surgery was found in all cases,the average blood loss was 2 200ml.30cases were followed up for a period of average of 28 months.No recurrence of the tumor was seen.Conclusion:Preoperative arterial embolization is effecrive in decreasing blood loss during the operation,it is very significant.
