Clinical effect of jinshuangqi with sulfasalazine for ulcerative colitis

Abstract
[Objective] To evaluate the clinical effect of jinshuangqi with sulfasalazine for ulcerative colitis.[Methods] Fifty-two patients with ulcerative colitis were randomly divided into two groups,27 cases in treatment group and 25 cases in contral group.The patients in contral group were treated with taking sulfasalazine for six weeks..The others were treated with taking sulfasalazine and retention enema of jinshuangqi for six weeks.To evaluate the patients'symptoms and the drug effect and discover pathologic change of tissue by endoscopy after treatment.[Results] The total effective rate in clinic symptoms,expression under endoscopy and tissue improvement were 88%,80%,76% in treatment group and 63%,51.9%,48.1% in contral,(P 0.05).[Conclusion] Using jinshuangqi with sufasalazine for ulcerative colitis is more effective than only using sulfasalazine.
