Abstract
The preparation of pure nickel chloride solution by membrane electrolysis process using nickel plate as the anode was studied.Effects of parameters including current density, temperature, electrode distance, and membrane support fashion on the electrolysis process were investigated on a pilot scale running for a long consecutive time. The electrolysis was operated at current density of 400 A/m~2,temperature of 38 ℃,electrode distance of 18 mm,and the membrane close to the cathode.Under these conditions the pure nickel chloride solution was prepared with pH value of 5,Ni~(2+) concentration more than 80 g/L,membrane rejection of Ni~(2+) over 99.5%,current efficiency over 96%,average cell voltage under 2.3 V,and energy consumption for dissolving one ton of nickel under 2 170 kW·h.
