Abstract
Effects of La3+ on germination and physiological and biochemical characteristics of rice seed were studied. The results showed that the seeds’ growth had bearing on the concentration of La3+. Within the range of 1~30 mg·L-1,La3+ soaking increased the vigor of seed and its amylase, peroxideenzyme and lipase activities, and promoted the growth of plant shoot and root. When La3+ concentration was higher than 50 mg·L-1, seed germination and seedling growth were depressed. The effect of La3+ on root was much stronger than on shoot.
