Analysis of the infection of HIV among blood donors in Taizhou

Abstract

Objective:To investigate HIV infection among blood donors in Taizhou in the past few years so as to provide evidence for efficient.Publicity,recruitment and testing in blood Transfusion Services.Methods:Referred to National Guideline for Detection of HIV/AIDS,all donors′blood were detected with HIV antibody screening test from 2000 to 2009,those finally confirmed positive with Western blotting assay(WB) were epidemiological studied.Results:From 2000 to 2009,we found 26 HIV infections in blood donors.HIV infection in blood donors increased.Most of them were low educated,unmarried and non-employed men.sexual transmission is the most way.Conclusion:HIV infection was found in blood donors,and they are on the increase.It showed that HIV had spreaded from high risk groups to the ordinary crowds.In order to safety transfusion,blood donors should be chosen from the low-risk populations.
