Efficacy of three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy combined with TP regime in the treatment with esophageal cancer radiotherapy after recurrence

Objective To study the efficacy of three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy combined with paclitaxel + cisplatin( TP) regime in the treatment with esophageal cancer radiotherapy. Methods From June 2011 to June 2013 in Affiliated Hospital of North China University,98 cases with esophageal cancer recurrence after radiotherapy were enrolled in the study and were divided into the observation group and the control group,49 cases in each group. The observation group accepted three dimensional conformal radiotherapy in combination with TP chemotherapy and the control group only accepted simple three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy. The clinical efficacy of two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was obviously higher than that of the control group( P 0. 05); The 2yr-survival rate of the observation group was obviously higher than that of the control group( P 0. 05). The occurrence of adverse reaction of the two groups also showed significant differences( P 0. 05). Conclusions For patients with esophageal cancer recurrence after radiotherapy,three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy and TP chemotherapy can improve the near future curative effect,and improve the patients' survival rate. Therefore,for the patients with no chemotherapy contraindications,synchronous chemotherapy may be considered.
