A Study of the Problems in Graduate Education and the Corresponding Solutions

Based on the practice in graduate education, this paper analyzes the problems in this field. It points out that aims of the education are far from being clear, mode of the education is not regularized, reform of the education system needs deepening and it is difficult to take some specific measures. And meantime it suggests that the aims be clarified by following the law of the development of higher education, the mode regulated by trial and error, the reform deepened by meeting the requirements of the socialist market economy, the measures carried out to improve the quality of graduate education with a realistic and pragmatic spirit, and a liberal environment created for academic studies while strict management is exercised and stern demands are made of the students.
