Abstract
In order to meet the increasing requirements for efficiency reliability of network operation and service quality, it is necessary to consider traffic engineering in the design and operation of large public Internet backbone networks. MPLS provides traffic engineering with technology guarantee. The traffic engineering is introduced. And the principles and technologies related to implementation of traffic engineering in a network with MPLS are analyzed. Its advantages for traffic engineering are also discussed.
