Abstract
Traffic engineering is the key technology to balancing the network traffic, decreasing the network congestion and optimizing the network performance on condition of continually increasing traffic. MPLS supports flexible routing method and fits the implement of traffic engineering well. This paper introduces the concept, object and development of traffic engineering, and especially focuses on the creation of traffic engineering path with RSVP in MPLS networks. The last section discusses some problems that need to be solved in the process of implementation.
