Abstract

OBJECTIVE To compare the effects of two methods for cleaning and disinfection of medical portable receptacles.METHODS The medical portable receptacles were selected from RICU and randomized into the machine cleaning and traditional chlorine disinfectant cleaning, meanwhile the microbiology testing was performed.RESULTS As compared with traditional cleaning method(8.27×102)±67.68 CFU/cm2,the average bacterial colony of using SAN24W machine decreased from(1.86×105)±(6.42×104) CFU/cm2 before the disinfection to(52.67±36.50) CFU/cm2 after disinfection, the difference was statistically significant(P0.001);the clearance rate of the bacteria on the portable receptacles reached to 99.9%,the logarithmic value of bacterial reduction was greater than 5,and the pathogenic bacteria were not detected in all the portable receptacles.CONCLUSION Disinfection machine used for cleaning is a simple and effective, which can significantly reduce the bacterial content and raise the demise rate of the bacteria.
