Clinical observation of the treatment of advanced esophageal carcinoma with nedaplatin and 5-fluorouracil.

Objective To observe the efficacy and side effects of nedaplatin(NDP) and 5-fluorouracil(5-Fu) on treating advanced esophageal carcinoma.Methods Fifty one patients with advanced esophageal carcinoma were divided randomly into NDP group and control group.The therapeutic regimen for NDP group was NDP 80mg/m2,ivgtt,on day 1 and 5-Fu 500 mg/m2,ivgtt,on days 1-5.The therapeutic regimen for control group was PDD 20mg/m2,ivgtt,on days 1-5 and 5-Fu 500 mg/m2 ivgtt,on days 1-5.Twenty one day was a cycle for two regimens.The efficacy was evaluated after two cycles of treatment.Results ①The short term effective rates in NDP group and control group were 50% and 43.48% respectively,and there was no statistical difference between them(P0.05).②The main side effect of NDP group was thrombocytopenia,and the incidence was 42.86%;while the side effects of control group were nausea and vomitting,and the incidence was 47.87%.There was statistical difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion The combination of NDP and 5-Fu show sure efficacy and slight side effects in the treatment of advanced esophageal carcinoma.It can be used widely in clinic.
