Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical effect of GCⅨ glass ionomer as pit and fissure sealant on prevention of pit and fissure caries. Methods: A total of 463 completely erupted first molars and of 6-9-year-old children in 2011 were selected as observation group and they were treated with GCⅨ glass ionomer as pit and fissure sealant; the contralateral first molars were selected as control group; all the children were followed up at 1,2 and 3 years after treatment, the situation of pit and fissure sealing, the incidence rate of caries were examined. Results: The one-year,second-year and three-year conservative rates of GCⅨ glass ionomer were 94. 49%,92. 92% and 76. 05%,respectively; the incidence rate of caries in observation group was lower than that in control group. Conclusion: GCⅨ glass ionomer as a reliable and easy pit and fissure sealant is worth clinical popularizing.
