Abstract
Objective:To observe the change of serum IL 12,IL 4 and IgE levels in asthmatic children.Methods:Serum IL 12,IL 4 and IgE contents in 30 asthmatic children and 20 normal controls were determined by ELISA and MEIA technique,respectively.Results:Compared with control group,IL 12 level significantly decreased,and IL 4 and IgE concentrations remarkably increased in asthmatic children( P 0.01),especially in patients with acute stage of asthma.There were a negative correlation between IL 12 and IgE levels and a positive correlation between IL 4 and IgE levels in attack and remission stages of asthma.Conclusion:It is suggested that asthma be a chronic airways inflammation,which requires anti inflammatory therapy even in remission stage.
