Abstract
Objective To explore the diagnostic values of TuM2-PK in combination with NSE and CYFRA21-1 for lung cancer. Methods Plasma levels of the three tumor markers were detected by ELISA in 95 patients with lung cancer, 80 patients with benign lung diseases, and 100 healthy people. Results The levels of TuM2-PK, NSE and CYFRA21-1 were significantly higher in patients with lung cancer than in healthy controls and those with benign lung diseases (P 0.01 for all comparisons). The sensitivity of Tumor M2-PK for lung cancer was 66.3% and the specificity was 95%. The highest rate of TuM2-PK plus NSE for detecting lung cancer was 81%. Conclusions TuM2-PK can be used as a novel tumor marker for lung cancer. A combined detection of TuM2-PK plus NSE may enhance the diagnosis of lung cancer.
