Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of the therapy of gastrodin combined with alprostadil and gastrodin alone on central vertigo caused by posterior circulation ischemia. Methods Ninety-five pa-tients with vertigo from October 2010 to October 2012 due to posterior circulation ischemia were randomly divided into gast-rodin combined with alprostadil group(treatment group) and gastrodin alone treatment group(control group). The im-provement of the symptoms and the adverse reactions were observed. Results The vertigo was significantly improved in the two groups. The complete remission rate and total effective rate in treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group(P 0.05).The average flow velocity(Vm) of vertebral artery(VA) and basilar artery(BA) were changed significantly after treatment in two groups(P 0.05),and more significantly in treatment group than those in con-trol group(P 0.05).Conclusions Gastrodin combine alprostadil therapy could relieve the clinical symptoms of verti-go caused by posterior circulation ischemia, and also could improve the vertebral-basilar artery blood flow.
