Health status of middle school students in Suzhou urban district

Abstract
Objective To understand the health status of middle school students in Suzhou urban district in order to improve school health work.Methods The data of 14 479 students were collected from the health investigation,and analyzed and compared with the data of 2001.Results The total prevalent rates of malnutrition,obesity,dental caries and myopia were 17.63%,15.97%,14.43% and 73.14%,respectively.The trend of the total prevalent rates of malnutrition,obesity and decayed tooth was downward yearly,but the trend of myopia was upward yearly.Conclusions The health status of the middle school students in Suzhou urban district improves steadily,and it is important to prevent myopia.
