Abstract

Objective: To survey therapeutic effects of DingChuan Tang in treating children with asthma at acute exacerbation. Methods: All 240 patients were randomized into the observation group and the control group. The control group received routine treatment including relieving the spasm, dilating bronchia, fighting against the infection, relieving the asthma and others, the observation group took DingChuan Tang, one dose per day. Both groups were medicated for 14 days. Results: Clinical control rate of the observation group was 64.17%, higher than 46.67%of the control group with notable difference(P0.05). Total effective rate of the observation group was 97.50%, superior to 85.83% of the control group with significant difference(P0.05). Daily and nightly symptom scales of both groups were improved obviously after treating(P0.05), the improvement of the observation group was more obvious than that of the control group(P0.05). Conclusion: DingChuan Tang could obtain remarkable effects in treating children with asthma at acute exacerbation.
