Clinical observation of improved Dingchuan decoction on the treatment of bronchial asthma at acute stage

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of conventional western medicine with improved Dingchuan decoction on the treatment of acute exacerbation of asthma.Methods 66 cases of bronchial asthma at acute stage were randomly divided into two groups,which were treated by conventional western medicine.Treatment was given improved Dingchuan decoction,a dose and 2 times a day.Control group received Salbutamol sulphate tablets,2 pills,thrice a day.The course was ten days in two groups.Results The total effective rate in treatment group(100%) was superior to that in control group(75.76%,P0.05).FEV1 and FEV1% after treatment were increased in comparison with those before treatment in two groups(P0.05).The improvement of FEV1 and FEV1% in treatment group were superior to those in control group(P0.05).Conclusion On the basis of conventional western medicine improved Dingchuan decoction is effective on acute exacerbation of asthma,can significantly improve lung function in patients.
