Urban public space quality and New Urbanism design

After introducing the basic definition of urban public space and the background,principles and traits of New Urbanism,this paper explored the common issues existing in the public space construction in the rapid urbanization process of China.It then analysed the enlightment of the principles of mixed-functioning,citizen-oriented and environment friendly and humanity and culture-emphasized in New Urbanism to the levelling up of urban pubilc space quality in China.
