Abstract

New Urbanism puts forward a new urban planning and design guidelines.This article introduces the background and the meaning of New Urbanism,and focuses on summarizing design methods of the New Urbanism Communities,mainly divided into three scales: region,neighborhood,block;street;building.And to explore and summarize that China should study the concept of New Urbanism and put Chinese connotation in New Urbanism,which will bring the enlightenment meaning of improving the theory and practice of urban planning in China.
