Abstract

Objective To determine the constituents of triterpenes in the seeds of Vitex negundo L.Methods The triterpenes constituents were isolated and purified by Silica gel,ODS and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography,and their structures were elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods.Results Seven compounds were identified:2α,3α,19α-trihydroxyoic-12-en-28-acid(1),2α,3β-dihydroxy bearing-12-en-28-acid(2),2α,3β,19α-trihydroxyoic-12-en-28-acid(3),2α,3β,19α,23-tetrahydroxybearing-12-en-28-acid(4),2α,3β,23-trihydroxybearing-12-en-28-acid(5),2α,3α,24-oleanolic trihydroxy-12-en-28-acid(6) and ursolic acid(7).Conclusion Compounds 1,3,4,5 and 6 have been obtained from this genus for the first time.
