Abstract

Objective CA125,CA19.9 and CA15 - 3 are antigenic determinants associated with human ovarian carcinomas. Murine monoclonal antibodies have been raised against these determinants, to improve specificity and sensitivity of differentiating ovarian cancer from benign tumors. MethodsImmunoradionetric assays have been developed to monitor antigen levels in 21 women with ovarian cancer 21 with benign pelvic masses. Results The average content of tumor markers in ovarian cancer was higher than benign tumor (P0.001),as a single assay. The accuracy of CA125 is 78.57% .But the accuracy of combination of CA125,CA19.9 and CA15 - 3 which two indices showed positive is 85.71 % .Conclusion Combined assaying CA125,CA19.9 and CA15 - 3 in which 2 indices showed positive was superior to using one marker for the diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
