Abstract
By mathematical modeling of turbulent flow the liquid steel flowing and removal of inclusions inside the tundish are simulated, and the effects of installation of the flow control equipments in the tundish on the flowing condition and average duration of liquid steel and removal rate of inclusions are systematically analyzed. Results show that the short circuit flow in the tundish has been effectively checked and average duration of the liquid steel prolonged and the removal rate of inclusions inside the tundish prominently raised since installafion of dam and weir in the tundish, and thus the metallurgical results in the tundish are greatly improved.
