The Clinical Analysis of the Effects of Dacryocystorhinostomy for the Patients of Chronic Dacryocystitis

Abstract

Objective To summarize the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis with dacryocystorhinostomy. Methods A retrospective analysis was used in 61 cases(67 eyes) underwent dacryocystorhinostomy for chronic dacryocystitis and(/or) nasolacrimal obstruction.Results 61 patients of this group were followed up for 4 to 12 months.56 eyes(83.6%) were cured and 11 eyes(16.4%) got improved.No failure case was observed.Conclusion Dacryocystorhinostomy is still an ideal method in the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis and(/or) nasolacrimal obstruction.
