Curative effect analysis of Tangtong formula in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Objective To explore the curative effects of Tangtong formula in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN).Methods 70 patients with DPN admitted into our hospital from January 2010 to January 2012 were selected and divided into control group and experimental group in randomly.Regular treatment was provided in both groups,besides,in the treatment group,Tangtong formula was added.The clinical effects in the two groups was compared. Results The total effective rate,improvement of symptoms and signs in traditional Chinese medicine,and nerve conduction velocity of lower limbs in the experimental group were all superior than those in the control group,compared between the two groups,the difference were all statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Tangtong formula can obtain a favorable clinical effect on treating DPN,which indicates a high value in clinical application.
