Abstract
Nitration of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propane by nitric acid gives 2,2-bis(4-hydroxy-3-nitrophenyl)-propane,an intermediate of fire-retardants.Experimental results show that under the best nitration conditions that the concentration of nitric acid is 22%,the reaction temperature is 30 ℃and the reaction time is 3 h,the highest yield of the target product is 87.5%.After purification with column chromatography, data of elementary analysis,IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR and MS of the product conform with its chemical structure.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
