Abstract
Objective In order to understand the epidemiological features of measles since implementing the measles surveillance in Maanshan city. Methods We analyzed the measles epidemic situation and surveillance system operation during 2000~2006.Results The results showed that 597 measles cases were reported in the city during 2000-2006,264 were confirmed by laboratory, the measles annual average incidence was 3.30/105.The high incidence period was in 1-6 month every year, and the most measles cases were adolescent,31.44% cases had no clear immunization history and 21.21% cases had no immunization history. The measles surveillance system was running normally and the sensitivity was relatively high.Measles had been controlled at relatively low level. Conclusion To enhance coverage of the primary MV and inoculation in time, and to improve measles surveillance system and the ability of laboratory examination were very important for controlling measles.
