Abstract
Objective:The aim of our study is to investigate the effects of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)on motheas and infants. Methods:The pregnancy outcomes of 36 patients with GDM and 36 normal pregnant women were analyzed. Results:The incidence rates of pregnancy induced hypertension and premature labor were significantly higher in the study group(41.7%and 27.7%respectively)than those in the control group(16.7%and 8.3%respectively)(P0.05).The incidence rates of fetal macrosomia and cesarean delivery in study group were 25%and 58.3% respectively, significantly higher than those in the control group(5.5%and 27.7% respectively)(P0.05).Conclusion:GDM is a gestational complication harmful to pregnant women and perinatal foetus.Early diagnosis of GDM and controlling blood glucose are essential for reducing the incidence of maternal and fetal complications.
