Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of C-erbB?2, P53 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and their relationship with clinical pathological characteristics in human pancreatic adenocarcinoma aiming at providing theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods C-erbB?2,P53 and PCNA in 39 cases of pancreatic adenocarcinoma taken from postoperative specimen were detected using immunohistochemistry of avidin-biotin complex method. Results The positive rate of C-erbB?2 and P53 were 51.3% and 59.0%,whereas the positive rate of lower and higher proliferating activity of PCNA were 41.0% and 59.0% respectively. The expression rate of C-erbB?2 was positively correlated with lymph node metastasis, local infiltration, differentiation degree and clinical stage(P(0.05)).The positive rate of P53 was associated with clinical stage and differentiation degree, but not related with lymph node metastasis and local infiltration.Proliferating activity of PCNA was higher in cases with lymph node metastasis than that without lymph node metastasis, and labeling index of PCNA was significantly different between high and low differentiation. The expression rate of C-erbB?2 was correlated with proliferating activity of tumor, but no corelation was found between the expressions of C-erbB?2 and P53.Conclusion C-erbB?2,P53 and PCNA are closely involved in the genesis and development of pancreatic carcinoma, and they are important markers reflecting pancreatic carcinoma behavior.
