Clinical observation of auricular-plaster therapy combined with Dingxuan decoction in the treatment of senile vertigo

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of auricular-plaster therapy combined with self-made dingxuan decoction in the treatment of senile vertigo.Methods 132 senile patients with vertigo were randomly divided into treatment group(auricular-plaster therapy combined with oral administration of dingxuan decoction group) and control group(western medicine group) in a course of 14 days.The therapeutic effects before and after the treatment in both groups were observed.Results In the treatment group,the number of cure,excellence,and effectiveness were 38,18,and 5 respectively and the total effective rate was 92.4%,while in the control group,the number of cure,excellence,and effectiveness were 10,18,and 22 respectively and the total effective rate was 75.8%.In comparison of effect in both groups,the differences were all statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion The auricular-plaster therapy combined with oral administration of dingxuan decoction in the treatment of senile vertigo can obtain an obvious effect,which is simple and convenient in performance and is worthy of extension in clinic.
