Abstract
Objective To assess the diagnostic value of MRI for Fallot's tetralogy in infants.Materials and Methods MRI findings in 30 infants with Follot's tetralogy were analyzed, and the signs were compared with the results of color Doppler echocardiography and angiocardiography. Results Both the ventricular septum and its defect were best demonstrated on transverse scans, while overriding aorta was best seen on coronal scans and pulmonary trunk and right pulmonary artery on sagittal scans. The hypertrophic right ventricle could be well displayed on all the above scans. Conclusion Being a safe, non invasive, effective and reliable method, MRI is superior to angiocardiography and Doppler echocardiography in diagnosing Fallot's tetralogy in infants.
