Clinical analysis of spontaneous pneumothorax treated by video-assisted thoracoscope surgery

Objective To analyse and compare the advantage of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery ( vats) for the treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax patients with traditional open chest surgery. Methods 123 patients with spontaneous pneumothorax from January 2011 to April 2013,were randomly divided into two groups,the treatment group with vats and the control group with traditional open chest surgery. Results With statistical methods appropriate by P 0. 05 statistically significant curative effect,the comparison of intraoperative and post-operational indicators and the incidence of complications showed treatment group better than control group. Conclusion The vats for treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax has obvious advantage than traditional open chest surgery,with lower postoperative pain,quicker recovery,fewer complications,and has clinical technology is development trend.
