Abstract

The complex of Tb(Ⅲ) and Y(Ⅲ) with camphoric acid and α,α′-dipyridine was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and IR analysis. The compositions of the complex was confirmed to be(TbY)_2(CA)_3(dipy)_2(CA:camphoric acid,dipy:α,α′-dipyridine).In addition ternary complexes of Tb(Ⅲ) and Y(Ⅲ) in different proportion were prepared. The excitation and emission spectra of the complexes were recorded at room temperature.Three dimensional fluorescence spectra showed the optimum excitation wavelength was 313.0 nm.In emission spectra the four emission bands corresponded to ()~5D_4-~7F_6(490.0 nm),~5D_4-~7F_5(544.0 nm),~5D_4-~7F_4(584.0 nm),~5D_4-~7F_3(620.0 nm),respectively, and the strongest emission wavelength was 544.0 nm.The fluorescence intensity changes of four complexes indicated that yttrium ions sensitized terbium ions remarkably.
