Abstract

Aim: To investigate the therapeutic effects of fluconazole on fungal keratitis by a case-control study of fluconazole and ketoconazole. Methods: 30 cases of fungal keratitis were divided into fluconazole group (16 cases) and ketoconazole group(14 cases) with corresponding drug used. Results: 15 cases healed after treatment with fluconazole and 8 cases healed with ketoconazole. The cure rates and the means of treatment duration are 93.8%, 17.5 days and 57.1%, 34.5 days respectively for fluconazole group and ketoconazole group. The differences in the cure rates and treatment duration between two groups are remarkable statistically (P0.05). Conclusion: Fluconazole is more effective than ketoconazole on treatment of fungal keratitis.
