Clinical observation of treatment of combination of western and traditional chinese medicines in 120 patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of the strategy combining traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine to treat chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.Methods One hundred cases with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease were divided into two groups,60 cases were treated with the combination of ceftriazone,metronidazol and traditional Chinese medicine,and another 60 cases were treated with ceftriazone and metronidazol,the effects on the two groups were compared.Results Total effective rate was 91.67% in the combination group;total effective rate was 63.33% in the ceftriazone group;and the differences were significant( P 0.01).Conclusion It may obtain better clinical effects on combining the traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine in the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.
